Your personal zoom (for staff and faculty) by default, can host a Zoom meeting with up to 500 participants; students and affiliates can host a meeting with up to 300 participants.
If you plan to have more than 500 participants you can:
1. You can use MIT's Webex
2. You can use your Zoom account - but you have to ask IST to turn on the webinar function first.
-----------------------------------------------------------
1. All MIT staff have access to Webex to set up webinars.
- Login to https://mit.webex.com
2. In the case of the Zoom webinar subscription, MIT’s Zoom license allows for a limited number of webinars. The webinar function needs to be turned on for audiences over 100 participants.
If you require this feature, please send an email to servicedesk@mit.edu indicating how many people you would like to attend the webinar, and your request will be evaluated. Please send the request in in plenty of time to get their response before the event. We suggest that each vertical limited the number of people requesting this functionality -- as it is limited, we do not want too many people asking for the same thing and risk having MIT not allow it.
I believe that once you have it turned on for your account, it is turned on for a pre-determined timeframe (please check this with IST when you contact them).
