If you computer is still under warranty, you may be able to get repairs done while you are overseas.

From IS&T: You would be able to take the Mac to an Apple store for repairs under EDU AppleCare through us. As long as it is MIT issued, laptops purchased by MIT for faculty and staff are eligible for support from Apple's EDU AppleCare team.

Steps to follow:

1. Contact MIT's IS&T: servicedesk@mit.edu and inform them of the issue and let them know where you are.

2. If the issue can't be resolved over the phone IS&T may instruct you to go to an Apple store (for MAC) wherever you are (repairs will be covered under AppleCare) or IS&T will instruct you to mail the computer back the US (depending on the issue).

* Important: Make sure you back up your data before bringing/sending your computer in.
