Multi-Factor Authentication | A Salesforce Guide

Salesforce has introduced multi-factor authentication (MFA) to enhance login security to protect against common threats like phishing attacks, credential stuffing, and account takeovers.
This guide will help you log in on the Salesforce Platform, including Sales Cloud and Service Cloud through MFA.

Step 1:
Install Salesforce Authenticator on your mobile device.

Open Authenticator

Click “Add an Account”

Step 4:
You will see the phrase which will help you connect your authenticator with your Salesforce account. In this example “exact research” is the phrase.

Step 5:
Try to login to Salesforce from your desktop/laptop. Use this link.
This will land you on the “Connect Salesforce Authenticator” page shown in the next step.

Step 6:
Use the phrase from step 4 in the blank field of the “Connect Salesforce Authenticator” page and click “Connect”.

Step 7:
You should see your username on the “Salesforce Authenticator” app on your mobile device. Click “Connect” to connect your device with your account and complete the process.

Step 8:
Next time when you try to login to Salesforce, your mobile app will inform you to authenticate the login. Click “Approve” to complete login.
