How to Enable Live (Real-Time) Zoom Transcripts for Meetings

Sign in to Zoom Web Portal

Navigate to https://mit.zoom.us and sign in with your MIT account (Kerberos/DUO) account credentials to configure your account

Once signed in, select Settings
from the left sidebar menu.

At the top of the Settings page, click on the Meeting tab.

Scroll down to the In Meeting (Advanced) section; locate the Automated Captions setting, and toggle the switch to enabled.

Scroll down to Full transcript and toggle this to enabled. This will allow for real-time transcripts/captioning to appear in the expanded right column of the Zoom meeting window (to expand, click the transcript icon from your button bar; similar to the chat button.)

In the Zoom meeting as host, Click the Transcript More... pop-out menu and choose Transcript.

Select your language of choice

Then click Save

Please note that this is not a translation feature. Its' functionality is such that transcripts will be generated for individuals speaking the selected language that Zoom is configured to listen for.

Now as the host you should see the Transcript button in your selection bar, as should your participants.

Click it to expand the live transcripts window section during the meeting (similar to the chat window). As long as the Host has enabled transcribing for the given Zoom meeting, the Transcript button should appear for participants.
